Based on their behavior towards hydrolysis,
carbohydrates are classified into simple carbohydrates and complex carbohydrates.
Simple carbohydrates include monosaccharides whereas complex carbohydrates include oligosaccharides (disaccharides, trisaccharides etc) and polysaccharides.
