Question

How are chromosomes, chromatin and chromatid related to each other?

Open in App
Solution

Chromatin are the thread like stuctures which form the chromosomes. chromatid is the each strand of single replicated chromosome attached at the centomere and chromosome is the highly condensed chromatin fibre....they are inter related as all of them carry the genetic material called genes on them.

Chromatin is a mass of genetic material composed of DNA and proteins which is found in the interphase of the cell cycle. And chromatin condenses to form chromosomes. So chromosomes are just condensed form of chromatin found in the mitotic phase of the cell cycle .
