How are xerophytes adapted to live in deserts ?
Open in App
Solution
Xerophytes are the plants that usually survive in dry habitat such s deserts.
Since there is less water availability in deserts, these plants have water retention characteristics.
They have a thick and waxy stem which prevents the water loss from the pores in the stem.
Their leaves are modified into spines to prevent the loss of water through them.
They have long roots so that they can absorb water from long distances.
