These are the methods by which acidic soil can be converted to neutral:

  1. By adding lime to the natural soil, acidic soil can be converted to neutral soil.
  2. The alkaline nature of lime neutralizes the acidity of the soil.
  3. Quick lime can also be used to neutralize the acidic soil, which is known as calcium oxide.
  4. Calcium oxide neutralizes the soil as it is basic.
  5. Similarly, slaked lime (calcium hydroxide) and chalk (calcium carbonate) of which are basic, hence neutralizing the acidity of the soil.
