Industries can protect the environment by conserving energy and using less polluting fuels. Industries can use materials which are less energy-intensive, improve production processes and switch to alternative or renewable energy sources. Industries can utilise waste materials from one industry or one stage of manufacturing as raw material in another.Industries can create products which are degradable and whose by products are non-toxic. Industries should focus on designing products which will have a minimal impact on the environment during their life cycle and which will be recyclable at the completion of their life cycle.
