How can we say that in animal cells mitosis takes place only in diploid somatic cells when the diploid germinal cells also increase their no by mitosis?!?!?

Dear student,
Mitosis takes palce only in diploid somatic cells which gives two new somatic cells.
Germinal cells can divide only by meiosis which gives haploid cells which later differentiate into gamate cells.
