Open in App
Solution

Ethene can be converted into ethanal by Wacker’s process. In this process, ethene is hydrolysed in the presence of Palladium(II) Chloride (PdCl2) solution and CuCl2 as a catalyst to form ethanal.
C2H2Ethene+H2O+PdCl2CuCl2−−−CH3CHOEthanal+2HCl+Pd
