Question

How can you distinguish between a convex and a concave mirror without actually touching it?

Solution

We can distinguish between a concave mirror, and a convex mirror by bringing our face close to each mirror, turn by turn:

  1. If the image is magnified, it is a concave mirror.
  1. In the case of the concave mirror also the image is of the same size as an object but here it will be inverted with respect to the object.
  2. A concave mirror forms a magnified image when the object is between pole and focus.

2. If the image is diminished, it is a convex mirror.
