Question

How can you say that variation is an invariable rule in nature?

Solution

Variations:

  1. Variations are differences in the genetic makeup or phenotype of various organisms.
  2. They occur as a result of mutations, recombination during gamete formation, or environmental factors.

There are two kinds of variations:

  1. Phenotypic variations caused by climate change or deliberate efforts.
  2. These variations are acquired during one's lifetime rather than inherited.
  3. They play no important role in evolution.
  4. Genotypic variations are caused by chromosome or gene changes.
  5. Genotypic variations are caused by mutations and recombination.
  6. They are heritable and play an important role in evolution.

Variation is the invariable rule:

  1. Darwin asserted that no two organisms of the same species are alike.
  2. Character changes occurred among the children of the same parents.
  3. They vary in size, color, health, strength, and so on.
  4. This is due to genotypic differences that occur during recombination and gamete formation.
  5. Throughout their lives, organisms develop phenotypic variations.
  6. There are far more differences between members of a population.
  7. As a result, variation is an unbreakable rule in nature.
