Solution

Dear student,

The emergence of feudalism gave a serious blow to the mighty Gupta empire. As a result of the weakening of the Guptas, a number of feudal chieftains, mainly those of the north-western region, assumed the status of independent rulers. After the reign of Buddhagupta, the status of certain, governors of North Bengal and Yamuna - Narmada area around Magadh too declared independence and came to be known as the later Guptas. In this way, Gupta empire was declined due to fuedalism.
