Gandhiji told Mrs. Pandit that she was going to a foreign country in order to escape her pain and circumstances. He told Mrs. Pandit that by not making peace with her relatives she was injuring herself. Hence, she needed to cleanse her heart off bitterness by meeting her relatives and making peace with them.
