Question

How do houseflies carry disease-causing microbes (or pathogens)?

Open in App
Solution

House fly spread microorganisms such as Salmonella bacteria by just picking it up and placing it on food. They transmit the disease directly. While laying the eggs on garbage, feces etc, they collect the pathogen on their legs, mouth or small hairs of the body. These pathogens are transferred to the food or any touched surface by these flies. The person gets infected by consuming contaminated food.
