Open in App
Solution

Macrominerals:

  1. The plant-based nutrients are essential in large quantities as our body cannot produce them by itself.
  2. These macro-nutrients provide energy and support the different metabolic systems, growth, and development of the body.
  3. Macro-nutrients include fats, proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals.

Trace minerals:

  1. A trace mineral is needed in smaller amounts than major ones.
  2. But these amounts needed in the body are not an indication of their importance.

Examples of macrominerals are – Calcium, sodium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, sulfur, and chloride.Examples of trace minerals – Iron, zinc, molybdenum, iodide, manganese, copper, chromium, fluoride, and selenium.
