Question

How do our eyes perceive that the colour of banana is yellow?

Open in App
Solution

We know that the white light is composed of seven colours as shown above. When all these colours fall on banana, only the yellow colour is reflected by the banana and it absorbs rest of the colours. The reflected colour is perceived by the eye and hence it appears that the colour of banana is yellow.
