How do plants absorb sunlight?

Open in App
Solution

Sunlight absorption in plants:

  1. Plant cells have a light-absorbing pigment called chlorophyll.
  2. Chloroplasts possess chlorophyll within the thylakoid pigment.
  3. At the time of photosynthesis, chlorophyll A absorbs solar energy.
  4. Then it traps the energy by converting it into chemical energy.
  5. In this way, the sunlight is stored in chloroplasts.
