Question

How do plants fulfil their nitrogen requirements?

Open in App
Solution

Some plants like leguminous plants, fulfil their nitrogen requirements by converting atmospheric nitrogen into soluble nitrogenous compounds that get absorbed through their roots. Plants which can not fix atmospheric nitrogen, absorb the latter from the nitrogen-rich fertilisers that are applied around their roots.
