Prokaryotes:

  1. They are organisms that do not have proper cellular organization i.e they lack cellular organelles and a nucleus.
  2. They include the bacteria in this group.
  3. Though these cells do not have a nucleus they do have DNA or RNA in them.
  4. These genetic materials present in the cell helps in the different function of the cell.
  5. They help in replication as well as carry genetic material.

Nutrition in prokaryotes:

  1. On the basis of nutrition, prokaryotes can be classified into Autotrophs and Heterotrophs.
  2. The autotrophs can use light (Photoautotrophs) or inorganic chemicals (Chemoautotrophs) as their source of energy while heterotrophs use organic chemicals.
