Question

How do solids, liquids and gases differ in their density?

Open in App
Solution

Since the molecules of solid are closely packed, they are highly dense. For liquids, the intermolecular distance is somewhat greater than solids, so they have a low density as compared to solids. The molecules of gas lie much farther apart, thus the density of gases is very low.
