Gas: Any material which has no definite shape or volume ,has no free surfaces and is easily compressible.

Liquid: Any material which has a definite volume but no definite shape and has one free surface.

  • When a gas is cooled, it changes into a liquid.
  • The process of changing a gas into liquid on cooling is called condensation.
  • When gas is cooled, its particles lose kinetic energy and so the force of attraction between its particles increases.
  • Due to which gas changes into a liquid.
