  3. Another organelle is a nucleus that controls the hereditary traits of an organism by directing such functions as protein synthesis and cell division among others.
  4. The cell performs functions like obtaining nutrition, respiration, forming new proteins, cleaning its own waste, etc.
  5. So with the help of various organelles, a living cell performs these basic functions.
