Question

How does an object become positively charged?

Open in App
Solution

Explanation:

  1. When electrons are added or subtracted from an object, it becomes charged.
  2. When electrons are removed, the object becomes positively charged. Since they are subatomic particles, electrons are invisible even under a microscope. However, by rubbing some objects one can see how they become positively and negatively charged, when a pen is touched with a cloth, it gets charged and starts picking up pieces of paper.
