Question

How does asexual reproduction leads to speciation?

Open in App
Solution

Asexual reproduction does not lead to speciation, unless there is a radical mutation, which will change the genetic code of the organism. However, sexual reproduction will lead to speciation due to the increase of variations in the DNA of the organism.
Hence, due to the nature and type of mutation, there can be speciation occuring.
