How does blood circulate in the human body?

Circulatory system:

  1. Circulatory system is the transport system of human beings.
  2. Circulatory system transport substances with the help of blood.

Blood circulation:

  1. Blood circulates throughout the body by the pumping action of heart.
  2. The carbon dioxide rich-blood (deoxygenated blood) is collected from different tissues of the body by two major veins called vena cava.
  3. These two veins carry blood into right auricle.
  4. From right auricle, blood is pumped into right ventricle and from there blood is received by the pulmonary artery.
  5. Pulmonary artery carries this deoxygenated blood to lings.
  6. Exchange of gasses takes place in the lungs and blood becomes pure or oxygenated.
  7. This oxygenated blood reaches the left auricle through pulmonary veins.
  8. From left auricle, blood enters to left ventricle.
  9. From left ventricle, blood is received by artery called the aorta which carries blood to all body parts.
