Question

How does butterfly act as an agent of pollination?

Open in App
Solution

  • When the butterfly goes to another flower for nectar, the pollen grain that have stuck to it’s legs fall on that flower.
  • In this way, pollen from anther of one flower gets dusted onto the stigma of another flower.
  • In this process both butterfly and flowers are benifited: one gets nectar and the other gets pollinated.
