Question

How does cutting of forests affect the environment ?

Open in App
Solution

Trees are important for two reasons. First, they absorb carbon dioxide and reduce the greenhouse effect of carbon dioxide. Second, they also prevent soil erosion by holding the top soil tight with its roots. If trees are cut down indiscriminately, then it affects the environment by causing greenhouse effect and contributing to soil erosion.
