Chemical fertilisers cause soil deterioration through decrease of natural microflora. Natural microflora enrich soil fertility. So decrease in them will cause reduced fertility. Also, leaching down of fertilisers causes pollution of underground water. Salts entering crop plants in excess may prove to be harmful.
