Question

How does the pressure exerted by a thrust depend on the area of the surface on which it acts? Explain with a suitable example.

Pressure and area are inversely proportional. More the area lesser the pressure.

E.g it is easy to carry a bag with broad straps than a bag with thin straps as broad straps cover a large area thus less pressure acts on shoulders.
