Solution
Regulation of temperature by the skin:
Skin maintains body temperature by regulating blood vessels and perspiration.
Our skin acts as a thermostat for our bodies.
When we are outside in the cold, our skin causes us to shiver in order for our blood vessels to constrict and keep us as warm as possible.
When it's hot outside, we sweat to enhance blood flow to the capillaries, which leads to more perspiration. As the water evaporates from our skin, we become cooler.
