• Modern methods of Irrigation such as Sprinkler system and Drip system both are advantageous over Traditional methods of Irrigation such as Chain pump and Lever system used for lifting water.
• The sprinkler system of irrigation is useful on the uneven land where sufficient water is not available mainly on sandy soil. Whereas, in drip system the water falls drop by drop just at the position of the roots and this ensures that water will not be wasted and evenly distributed to the entire piece of land.
• Both the modern methods of irrigation are very efficient in areas having scarcity of water also it requires lesser number of labourers.
• While the traditional methods of irrigation are cheaper but less efficient as they are not suitable for all soil compositions and it is difficult to get balanced supply of water.
