Question

How is an ammeter made?

Open in App
Solution

Explanation:

A collection of coils with very low resistance and inductive reactance are used by ammeters to measure electrical current. By joining a low resistance known as a shunt resistance in parallel with a galvanometer, an ammeter can be created.

Ammeter Circuit Diagram: Ammeters can be built in two different ways: series and shunt. The fundamental circuit diagram is represented by the circuit illustrated below, along with the connections for the ammeter circuit in series.

A galvanometer can be converted into an ammeter by connecting a low resistance called shunt resistance in parallel to the galvanometer.
