Solution

ATPs used in glycolysis:

  1. Glycolysis is the breakdown of glucose in presence of oxygen to produce pyruvic acid.
  2. There are two major steps where ATP (adenosine triphosphate) is used in the process.
  3. The first stage where ATP is the step of conversion of glucose to glucose-6-phosphate catalyzed by the reaction hexokinase.
  4. The second stage where ATP is used is the conversion of fructose-6-phosphate to fructose 1, 6-bisphosphate catalyzed by phosphofructokinase.
