  3. It controls the metabolism of carbohydrates along with fats and proteins.
  4. Insulin is synthesized by the beta cells of the pancreas.
  5. Insulin is made up of two chains A and B, and a connecting peptide in the middle known as the C peptide.
  6. Upon stimulation, insulin is secreted from the beta cell and diffuses into the blood.
