The formation of soil includes two processes they are as follows:

  1. Weathering: This refers to the breaking down of large or giant rocks into smaller mineral particles that break down further into the smallest particles to form soil.
  2. Paedogenesis: It refers to the development of soil or formation of soil from the Earth's deep crust.
