A heat sink is an object or substance which absorbs and dissipates heat.
However, it does not undergo a related increase in temperature. Water in the body absorbs the heat which is generated by chemical reactions which do not greatly increase the temperature.
When the environmental temperature surges, the stored water in the body enables the body to stay cool.
This effect of cooling occurs as warm blood from the core flows of the body to the blood vessels just below the skin. It is transferred to the environment.
Simultaneously, sweat glands give out the warm water in the form of sweat.
The evaporation of water into the air carries the heat away.
Then the cooler blood from the boundary circulates back to the body's core.
