Question 2
How is the movement of leaves of the sensitive plant different from the movement of a shoot towards the light?
1. The movements of the leaves of the sensitive plant are touch sensitive and independent of growth, called Nastic movements. They take place immediately in response to the stimulus of touch (thigmotropism).
2. While the movement of the shoot towards light is growth related, takes place over a longer period of time. These movements where the stimulus is light is known as phototropism.
