Trypsin:

  1. Trypsin is a protease enzyme that is present in the digestive system.
  2. Trypsinogen is an inactive form of trypsin.
  3. Trypsin is activated by the enterokinase enzyme which is secreted by the cells present in the intestinal mucosa.
  4. It also helps in breaking down protein into small peptides.
  5. Trypsin works better under alkaline pH of 8.
  6. It is activated by enterokinase in the small intestine and in turn, activates other pancreatic enzymes chymotrypsinogen, proelastase, procarboxypeptidase, and prolipase.
