Fullerenes - A fullerene is an allotrope of carbon which is consists of carbon atoms connected by single and double bonds that form a closed or partially closed mesh, with fused rings of five to seven atoms.
The molecule may be a hollow sphere, ellipsoid, tube, or many other shapes and sizes.
Fullerenes are clusters of carbon whose surface is made up of 12 pentagonal structures and a number of hexagonal structures.
Molecules of fullerenes can have about 30 to 900 atoms of carbon.
