Question

How many cubes of edges 4 cm, each can be cut out from cuboid whose length, breadth and height are 20 cm,18 cm and 16 cm respectively

Open in App
Solution

For cuboid
Volume = length x breadth x height
It is given that,
length =20 cm
Breadth =18 cm
Height =16 cm

So, by given dimensions
Capacity of tank =20×18×16 cm3=5760 cm3
Hence, option A is correct

For, cube
So, Volume = side3
It is given that,
side =4 cm

So,
Volume of cube =(4)3cm3=64 cm3

So, Numbers of cubes that can be cut from given cuboid=Volume of cuboid volume of cube
=576064=90
So, 90 cubes can be cut from given cuboid.
