The survival of a plant depends on its nature because if it is an aquatic plant it survives more because it can absorb more minerals and nutrients, also it depends on the mineral content in water.
So an exact time cannot be found ,it varies for plants for many reasons, for a normal plant hardly it may live for 1 or 2 days
