Solution

Dear Student,

Assuming digits cannot be repeated
Case I: when 0 lies at the unit's place

Thousand's place can be occupied by 5 digits
Hundred's place can be occupied by 4 digits
Ten's place can be occupied by 3 digits

Therefore total numbers = 5 x 4 x 3 = 60

Case II: when 2 lies at unit's place

Thousand's place can be occupied by 4 digits
Hundred's place can be occupied by 4 digits
Ten's place can be occupied by 3 digits

Therefore total numbers = 4 x 4 x 3 = 48

Case III: when 4 lies at unit's place

Thousand's place can be occupied by 4 digits
Hundred's place can be occupied by 4 digits
Ten's place can be occupied by 3 digits

Therefore total numbers = 4 x 4 x 3 = 48

Hence total even numbers that can be formed = 60 + 48 + 48 = 156
