O,OH,OR,NH2,NHRNR2,OOR,NOR,CH3,alkylgroup,SH,SR,F,Cl,Br,I
Ortho and para directing group give ortho and para substitutents as major products and meta directing as minor products
Also activating groups increase the rate of electrophile aromatic substitution , relative to hydrogen.
