The correct option is C

The water contained in the tank is equal to the volume of the tank.

Length of tank =50cm

Breadth of tank =40cm

Height of the tank =20cm

$∴$ Volume of the tank= L $\times b \times h$ =50 $\times 40 \times 20$ = $40000 c m^{3}$

$∴$ Volume of water in the tank = $\frac{40000}{1000} = 40 l$

$∵ 1 l = 1000 c m^{3}$
