In a falgellum, the microtubules are arranged in 9+2 array in which nine pairs of doublets are radially arranged at the periphery and a pair are located centrally. The central tubules are connected by bridges and is also enclosed by a central sheath. One of the tubules of each peripheral doublets is connected to central sheath by a radial spoke. Thus, there are nine radial spokes.
