How many sperm develop from 100 Spermatids?

Open in App
Solution

Spermatogenesis:

Spermatozoa (sperm) are male sex cells that contain the genetic material of a man.

Secondary spermatocytes:

  1. Secondary spermatocytes are haploid (N) cells with half the number of chromosomes as primary spermatocytes.
  2. Each secondary spermatocyte produces two spermatids.
  3. As a result, 50 secondary spermatocytes will produce 100 spermatids.
  4. The 100 spermatids will eventually develop into 100 spermatozoa.
