Question

How RBC and platelets form in bone marrow?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student

Red blood cells and platelets are formed in the red bone marrow of bones. The bone marrow has special type of cells called haemetopoitic stem cells which give rise to RBCs and platelets by the process of haemetopoisis. This process is stimulated by a hormone called erythropoietin produced at the juxtaglomerular apparatus by the kidneys.
