Solution

Mitosis

It is the process in which the parent cell divides into two daughter cells that are genetically identical.

Following is the table that differentiates mitosis between plant and animal cells:

Mitosis in animal cell

Mitosis in plant cell

  1. Centrosomes are formed.
  2. The mitotic apparatus contains asters.
  3. Centrioles are present which organize mitotic spindles
  4. During cytokinesis, the cytoplasm is divided with the help of cleavage formation and the method is cell furrow.
  1. Centrosomes are not formed.
  2. The asters are absent.
  3. Centrioles are absent and microtubules are organized by the cell wall that forms the mitotic spindle.
  4. During cytokinesis, the cytoplasm is divided by cell plate formation.
