Best method for preparation of C-C-Br From C-C-COOH is follg

Add NaOH and CaO to propanoic acid. U will gain ethane and Carbon dioxide

Propanoic acid +NaOH/CaO---∆----> ethane +CO2

Now react ethane with Br2(in presence of light or heat). Hence u gain ethyl bromide.
