Solving equations essentially requires proper rearrangement of numbers and variables on either side of the '=' sign.
We should also be careful about the sign (+ or -) during the rearrangement.
Rules to Solve an Equation
Rule 1: If we add the same number to both sides of a balance equation, the new equation so obtained will remain balance.
Rule 2: If we subtract the same number from both sides of a balance equation, the new equation so obtained will remain balance.
Rule 3: If we multiply both sides of the equation by the same number, the new equation so obtained will remain balance.
Rule 4: If we divide both sides of the equation by the same number, the new equation so obtained will remain balance.
