Dear student,
During the First World War the industrial production in India increased. This is because at that time the British mills became occupied with the war needs. The Manchester imports also decreased. Accordingly, the Indian mills faced huge demand from the home market. Later, they were also asked to supply products required during the war such as jute bag, leather boots, etc. The demand grew so much that new factories had to be set up while the existing ones ran in multiple shifts. Thus, the industrial production boomed.
