Moderates Radicals

  • They believed in the good intentions of the British to respect their ideals of justice and freedom.
  • Dadabhai Naoroji, Gopalkrishna Gokhale, and Surendranath Banerji are some of the famous Moderate leaders.
  • The radicals criticised the prayer and petition method.
  • They were in favour of a self-reliant and constructive approach and stated that people must fight for swaraj.
  • The radicals did not have faith in the “good” intentions of the British government.
  • Lala Lajpat Rai, Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Bipin Chandra were the major Radical leaders.
